iPod nano

Apple has made a few update to all of it's iPod products. Surprisingly, the iPod Nano is the device to get the most extensive updates from Apple.

The new iPod Nano 5th Generation still comes in a rainbow of colors and is ultrathin just like the previous generation. However, this new iPod Nano even equipped with built-in camera and an integrated mic. The bad news is, the camera is just for video shooting but not photo capturing.

Another new function of this new generation iPod nano is the FM tuner that marks the first time Apple has included a built-in FM radio on an iPod. The new FM tuner includes support for radio station RDS data which lets you see the names of songs and artists. Besides, the FM tuner also have Live Pause function that allow you to pause while listening to your favorite radio station. You can even rewind as far back as 15 minutes, then fast-forward to catch up to the live broadcast.

With the VoiceOver feature, you are never distracted from your ride or run by looking down at your screen. If you are listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist, just use the Click Wheel or the controls on the optional Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic and VoiceOver tells you the song name and who's performng it.

What VoiceOver sounds like:

Recording voice memos is technically not a new feature for the iPod Nano, but previous generations of the Nano required an investment in compatible headsets or recording accessories to use the feature. Now the built-in mic lets you capture a thought, a reminder, a class lecture, or any audio recording you want with Voice Memos.
Pros:
Packed to the gills with new audio-video features such as a video camera, FM radio, voice recording, Genius Mixes, a built-in speaker, and a larger 2.2-inch screen

Cons:
The Nano's camera can't shoot photos or HD-quality video and Apple located its lens in the most awkward location imaginable. Storage capacities remain stuck at 8GB and 16GB.

Conclusion:
This tiny stuff is selling RM 599 for 8GB and RM 719 for 16GB. It can be consider as a great mp3 player as i own a iPod Nano 4th Generation too. If you are considering buying an iPod for the first time, i feel it's worthwhile to remind you that Apple's iTunes is a required installation for your computer. The software is free and available for both Mac and PC.
